Typical Plumbing Tools
While the average person is aware of the jobs plumbers are able to do around their homes, there are many tasks one might not consider a plumber for. For a plumbing company to be successful, its business needs to cover a wide range of skill sets, while finding a niche to become referred for as well.
Common Residential Needs
An Atlanta plumbing company, like any plumbing company in any major metropolitan area, should be comfortable performing any task related to the plumbing in a home. This includes but is not limited to:
-Toilet plumbing
-Shower plumbing
-Kitchen sink plumbing
-Bathtub plumbing
-Emergency plumbing
-Commercial plumbing
-24 hour plumbing
-Toilet repair or replacement
-Bathroom and kitchen sink repair or replacement
-Bath spout, bath sink, and kitchen tap replacement or repair
-Installation of new shower valve and trim
-Cleaning out clogged pipes through disassembling the pipes, or using commercial grade clog-dissolving acids.
This is truly the short list, and each job can present obstacles to the plumber. For example, a potential obstacle when installing a shower valve may be related to the size of water pipe a new valve needs if different from the existing valve. If the new valve requires a 3/4” pipe and the old used ½” pipe, the job will require much more work to lay the new pipe.
Another common obstacle can happen when replacing an old toilet. Additional work may be needed to do the job properly, which will not be seen until the toilet is pulled up. Once the plumber can see the flange in the ground, it may turn out to be corroded and in need of replacement. Again, this results in extra work for the plumber, and additional costs to the homeowner.
Commercial Plumbing
Residential plumbers help with maintenance on existing homes, but commercial plumbing focuses on laying the pipe for new or remodel construction, as well as setting up water heaters, septic systems, and clean outs. Be careful when researching plumbing companies, as not every plumbing company can handle every job. You would not expect a commercial plumber to be adept at emergency plumbing and visa versa. Plumbing is a highly skilled profession, so choose a company with the appropriate years of training for the job.
